This hike took place in the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness area of Colorado. Specifically, the Lake Katherine trail and then branching off that to continue up to the continental divide. Please go to
my trail blogging site (opens a new window) for a full description of the trip.

Looking back east towards Walden, CO. An extremely small, but very friendly, town. When you pass through, please top up your gas tank and take advantage of the local eating establishments. You also might want to walk the main street down town and visit some of the small shops. Heck, stop into the post office and say HI to the employees. All really nice people.
You can make out the mountains behind them which contain the Rawah Wilderness Area.
